Professional video processing requires advanced editors with broad functionality. Such a product is Sony Vegas 10. The program provides almost unlimited tools for working with video and audio files, however, to use these capabilities, you must have sufficient knowledge.
Beginning of work
After launching Sony Vegas 10, you will see a program window consisting of several blocks. Clockwise - Viewport, Arrangement, and Window Docking Area. First of all, you need to create a new project. This is done in the standard way through the menu. In the settings window that opens, change the configuration for yourself. You can choose a ready-made template or set the size and frame rate yourself.
Add the video you want to edit to a new project. To do this, in the upper left panel, select the "Explorer" tab and select the desired file in the file system by dragging it onto the scale below. The video image will be located on the left.
The simplest action to start editing is to insert an image at the beginning of the video as a kind of title page. To do this, in the "Explorer" tab, already familiar to you, select the required file and drag it with the mouse onto the video scale. Align the edge of the image with the beginning of the clip. To add any transition effect, open the "Transitions" tab at the top left and select the effect you like from the list. Drag it to the scale similar to the image. You can also apply effects to the video itself, which are found in the Video Effects tab.
For the simplest operations - cropping, changing the speed, etc. - you can only use the mouse. Left-click on the edge of the video track and trim the video without releasing the buttons. If you want to slow down playback, click on the edge of the track while holding down the Ctrl key. To combine several pieces of video, simply overlay one on top of the other. Finally, to add text, select the "Insert Text" option in the context menu (right-click).
Advanced editing
As an example of professional video editing, consider using the helpful Crop and Key Points tool.
Open the Crop tool from the menu: Tools - Video - Crop. Alternatively, you can simply click on the tool icon at the end of the file. In the settings window, you can change the scale, frame rotation, aspect ratio, etc. An interesting feature of this tool is the setting of key or control frames. In the Crop Settings window, select "Keyframe Control" and set them every second. For example, on a keyframe, you can zoom in or out, or change the animation speed. This is a very useful and effective way to make your video interesting and eye-catching.
