An important element of the stable and efficient operation of your computer is the up-to-date, correctly working drivers. Many parts of your computer, such as video cards or sound cards, can run faster and better due to new driver versions. To always have the latest software, you need to be able to update your drivers over the Internet.
Instructions
Step 1
Download the latest drivers for your graphics card, motherboard, and other devices from the manufacturer's website. If you know which company you have a part, go to their website in the Downloads or Support section and select your device type. The description of the drivers on the site indicates their version, operating system and system bitness (64 or 32). Click on the desired link for Windows XP and download the installation package.
Step 2
If you do not know the manufacturer of your components, right-click on the "My Computer" icon and select "Manage". A console window will open, in which select the "Device Manager" section. Double-click the left mouse button on the equipment class, for example, "Video adapters" or "Sound devices", and note the model name.
Step 3
Launch your browser and open any search engine page. Type the name that you remember or copied from the device manager and find the manufacturer's official website. Go to the Support or Support section and select the link to download the required driver version. Download the installer and double-click it to run it. Repeat this step for each part for which you want to update the driver.
Step 4
Alternatively, download Driver Genius and update your drivers from the Internet automatically. Open your browser and type in the address https://www.driver-soft.com/. You will be taken to the program developer page. Click the Download button to download the installation file. Double-click the program installation and answer the wizard's questions. If you are not fluent in English, simply click Next on all screens. Please note that this program is paid.
Step 5
There is its free Russian analogue - the Driver Pack Solution software set, the current version has number 12. It has a large installer size, but it has a good archive of drivers for a variety of systems and is completely free. To download it, go to the website https://drp.su/ru/download.htm. Click on one of the links to download the program.
Step 6
Run the selected and installed program. Double click on the DriverGenius shortcut or open the Driver Pack Solution folder and activate the program file. The interface of both utilities is very similar, and immediately after launching a system scan starts. If new versions for drivers are found, a button appears with a proposal to update them via the Internet. Click this button, it is called FIX IT or "Update All" and wait for the program to finish.
