Every computer connected to the Internet has its own unique digital number, called an IP address. It can be constant or changing from connection to connection, that is, dynamic. The type of address is determined by your network service provider. In some cases, the user needs to find out his IP address. This can be done in several ways.

Step 1
First, remember that an IP address is a 32-bit number and is usually written in decimal format as a sequence of four dot-separated numbers, for example: 11.11.312.322 or 128.0.0.1. You get a dynamic address automatically from your provider every time you connect to the network. It is used until the end of the next connection session, and with a new connection, a different address is assigned. The static address is rigidly assigned to the subscriber and does not change.

Use the tools of the Windows operating system to determine the address on the network. To do this, run the "Configure IP Protocol" option.

Enter the Start Menu and Run. In the window that appears, type the command cmd. Click "OK". At the command prompt, type ipconfig and complete the operation by pressing the "Enter" key. You will then see the subnet mask, the IP address of the computer, and the IP address of the default gateway used for the current network connection.

For more information on the configuration of your personal computer, type ipconfig / all at the command line and press Enter. Now you will see the so-called MAC address (physical address) as well as the details of your network card.

Also use the information available in the properties of the current connection. Go to the "Network Connections" folder and right-click the "mouse" on the connection icon, select the "Status" menu, and this field - the "Support" tab. Click the Details button to view the additional information you need.
Step 6
In the connection properties, pay attention to the IP address, which looks like four groups of numbers separated by periods. This will be the address of your personal computer. If you are looking at the properties of your Internet connection, be aware that the client's IP address is the same computer address that other network members use to identify you and your actions.
