Necessary

  • - Computer;
  • - Genuine version of Microsoft Windows system.

Instructions

Step 1

Open the Windows Update website. To do this, go to Internet Explorer (5 or newer) and go to the "Tools" menu on Windows Update. Alternatively, you can simply enter the URL of the Windows update site on the dedicated Microsoft portal. To successfully complete this operation, use only Internet Explorer, others will display an error message.

Step 2

Select "Apply Administrator Functions" in the far left menu. Once these features appear on the screen, under Operating System Updates, search for the Windows Update catalog. Study this catalog carefully.

Step 3

Install Active Control X if required. The Microsoft Update catalog will offer you the necessary Service Pack updates (for operating systems of the Vista or XP family). Add update data to the list of installables. This can be done by clicking the "add" button next to each update you need to install.

Step 4

Check the status of the updates being downloaded. Click on the "View cart" button in the right corner of the screen immediately after the end of the system update. Make sure that there are all the necessary updates, and only then click "Download". Open the Download Options window and select where all files will be downloaded. The indicator will show the loading status.

Step 5

Open the folder where the files were downloaded. Double click to check the installation with the left mouse button on each file. You will be prompted to restart your computer when the operation is complete.

Step 6

Save the installation files to media such as a CD or USB drive and download them to your computer. Do this when you are about to download updates for a system that is not connected to the Internet. Double-click on the files with the mouse button to install them, just like when downloading from the Internet.
