Instructions
Step 1
Click on the hard disk partition you want to format with the right mouse button. A context menu will appear. From this menu select "Format". A window will pop up in which you can select the formatting options. Vista's operating system runs on NTFS, so you won't be able to change it (unless you're formatting your portable hard drive). Select "Quick, Clear Table of Contents" as the formatting method. Then click "Start".
Step 2
A notification appears that formatting will erase all information in the section. Click OK. The formatting process begins. Although its duration depends on the capacity of the selected partition, as a rule, this operation does not exceed a few seconds. This way you can format all partitions on your hard drive. The only exception is the system partition, since the operating system is installed on it.
Step 3
Also, for formatting, you can use special programs for working with hard drives. One of the good programs of this type is called Norton PartitionMagic. The application is paid, but there is a trial period for its use. Download the program from the Internet and install it on your computer hard drive.
Step 4
Start Norton PartitionMagic. After starting in the main menu, you will see a list of hard disk partitions. Click on the section that needs formatting with the right mouse button. In the context menu that appears, select "Format". After that, in the window that appears, click OK. The formatting process begins.
