Step 1
First, create a folder where all your account data will be saved. After that, you can proceed to the procedure for changing the user folder. Click Start. Then go to the "Control Panel". Locate the Administrative Tools component in the Control Panel. Start it up.

Then on the left side of the window, find the line "Local groups and users". There is an arrow next to it, click on it. After that, click on the "Users" line. A list of profiles (accounts) that are on this computer will appear. Accordingly, find your account and double-click on it with the left mouse button.

Now go to the "Profile" tab. In the window that opens, the lower section is called "Home Folder". In the line "Path", respectively, you need to enter the full path to the folder that will be used for your profile. After that click "Apply" and OK.

For owners of the Windows 7 operating system, this method is suitable. First, move the contents of the profile folder to another location. After that, you need to log on to the system under a different account, since the active profile cannot be transferred. To do this, you can simply create a temporary account and delete it later.

After you log into the system with a different account, right-click on "My Computer". Select Properties, then Advanced System Settings. Further in the "User Profiles" section, click on "Options". After that, select your account in the list of users. At the bottom of the window, click "Copy". Select a new folder for your profile. Click Yes.

Next, log into the system from your account and transfer your data to the new profile folder. Now it remains to change the registry a little. Open Registry Editor, then open the ProfileList registry key.

You will see a few more sections with numbers next to them representing the user's SID. When you click on this section, you can see the profile name in the right window. Thus, find the section that matches your profile.

After that, in the right window, find the ProfileImagePath branch. Double click on it with the left mouse button. Then enter the path to your new profile folder. Save your changes.
