Each flash drive has a name that is displayed in the "My Computer" window when you plug it into a USB port. It allows you to distinguish one flash drive from another. By default, all removable media have a standard name, for example "USB-disk", but you can name it whatever you want by following the procedures below.
Instructions
Step 1
Connect the USB flash drive to your computer. Wait for the automatic installation of the drivers.
Step 2
Click the "Start" button and select "Computer". A window with a list of all disks installed on the computer will open in front of you.
Step 3
In the "Devices with Removable Storage" section, find your removable drive. Right-click on it and select "Rename" in the drop-down menu.
Step 4
Think up and enter a name for the flash drive.
Step 5
Left-click on an empty space on the screen. That's it, now your device has its own unique name.
