In the Windows operating system, the Quick Launch bar is located in the lower right corner of the desktop. It contains icons for programs that start when the operating system boots. But these programs are not always really needed there.
Instructions
Step 1
Usually, when installing a program on a computer, the user himself indicates in the settings whether he wants this utility to be located on the quick launch panel. Most programs are not needed there. It is enough that they are available from the Start menu or as shortcuts on the desktop. You can run them yourself at any time. To remove a program from the Quick Launch for the duration of one working session, just right-click on the program icon and select "Exit". This is possible for most programs, but not always.
Step 2
If you want to permanently remove a program from Quick Launch, click the Start button in the lower left corner of your computer desktop. From the main menu, click Run. In the Open Program window that opens, enter msconfig. Click OK.
Step 3
Another window will open - "System settings". Go to the "Startup" tab. There you will see a list of programs available on the Quick Launch. Uncheck the boxes opposite those that you do not need there, and click "Apply". After that, the system will inform you that a computer restart is required for the changes to take effect. If you want to do this right away, select "Restart" or "Exit without restarting" to postpone it until the next computer startup.
Step 4
Do not remove firewalls and antiviruses from startup! They are just needed there. If you accidentally unchecked the programs that you need at startup, go there again and return the checkmark. Also, do not remove from Quick Launch utilities that you use constantly and that need to work in the background.
Step 5
You can also use system optimization utilities such as CCleaner to remove unnecessary icons from the Quick Launch. They are used to clean the hard drive from accumulated old and temporary files, remove unnecessary programs, etc. To use CCleaner (freeware) to clean the Quick Launch bar, go to the "Service" - "Startup" tab. Select the lines with applications and click "Delete" to remove the application from startup completely, or "Turn off" to temporarily make it inactive.
