The main difficulty in updating Kaspersky Anti-Virus is associated with the need to purchase a license to update its databases. The cost of such a license is quite high. It is possible to bypass this limitation by using the special Frost_KIS program and the ability to update Kaspersky from a 30-day trial version. This is very easy to do, the whole procedure consists of six steps and will not take more than three minutes.
Necessary
Frost_KIS program
Instructions
Step 1
It is necessary to disable Kaspersky Anti-Virus. To do this, right-click on the antivirus icon on the taskbar and select the "Exit" menu item (the lowest item in the menu). This must be done so that when the Frost_KIS program is started, Kaspersky Anti-Virus does not delete it as a virus.
Step 2
You need to open the Frost_KIS program and click on the "Reset Activation" button. Wait until the program confirms that activation has been successfully reset, after which you can close the program.
Step 3
It is necessary to remove the “Frost_KIS” program, after saving it in a password-protected archive or on an external storage medium. If this is not done, the Frost_KIS program will be irretrievably removed the first time you start Kaspersky Anti-Virus as a virus.
Step 4
Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet. This is necessary in order to activate the trial version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for a period of 30 days. If your computer is not connected to the Internet, you need to establish a connection.
Step 5
Find Kaspersky Anti-Virus in the Start menu and open it. In the window that appears, select the "Activate trial version" item and click the OK button. After that, you should wait until the end of activation and close this window.
Step 6
Right-click on the antivirus icon on the taskbar and select the Update menu item (the topmost item in the menu). In the program window that opens, click the "Run update" button. After that, the button will change its appearance to "Stop update", and below the duration and size of updates will be displayed. After the update is finished, the button will again take the form "Execute update".
