The virtual hard disk is designed to be used as an additional independent storage device. The tasks and goals for such a disk can be very diverse. It all depends on your requirements. However, not every user will be able to cope with this operation. To create a virtual hard disk, you need to follow certain rules.

Step 1
Click the Start button to create a virtual hard disk. Next, click on the "Control Panel" tab. Select the "Administration" item, then go to "Hyper-V Manager". On the action bar, click New and select Hard Drive. The Create Virtual Hard Disk Wizard makes it easy to create a virtual disk. Make it clear to yourself right away that VHDs cannot be created in folders that use encryption. Most of the options that you can use to configure a virtual hard disk differ depending on the type of disk you are creating. In all situations, a name and storage location must be assigned to the conditional hard disk.
Step 2
Follow the instructions on the pages of the wizard to configure the virtual hard disk. For sequential transition between the pages of the wizard, click the "Next" button. To go to a specific page, click the title of that page in the left area. To create a virtual hard disk, the operating system user must be a member of the Administrators group.
Step 3
It will take a while to create the virtual disk, so you have to wait. After completing the configuration of the conventional hard disk, click on the "Finish" button. The virtual hard disk is ready. Try to perform all operations according to this algorithm, since the process of creating virtual hard disks, if incorrectly configured, can lead to serious computer failures. It is also worth noting that almost all virtual hard disks are stored as special VHD files. Do not store virtual disks in folders that in turn use NTFS compression.
