Avast is a popular antivirus system, which today is one of the most demanded products for keeping your computer safe. However, like any other antivirus program, it takes up RAM and CPU resources that might not be enough to run demanding applications. To free up memory, you can temporarily disable your antivirus protection.
Instructions
Step 1
To temporarily disable the antivirus, you can use the program settings. Go to the Windows tray, which is on the right side of the bottom start menu bar. It is invoked by clicking on the arrow icon in the system notification area. By clicking on this button, you will see the Avast icon.
Step 2
Click on the icon with the right mouse button. You will see a context menu for managing the basic functions of the program. Select Manage Avast Screens from the options offered.
Step 3
In the list of the given parameters, you can select the time period for which you want to disable application protection. You can also deactivate protection until the system is restarted or until you reactivate protection. Select the most suitable parameter by clicking on the desired line with the left mouse button.
Step 4
A program window will open in front of you, which will require confirmation of the shutdown operation. Click on the "Yes" button to apply the changes. Disabling Avast protection is complete and you can continue to use your computer.
Step 5
If you click on the "Open User Interface" link in the context menu of the Windows tray, you will see the Avast window. To re-enable system protection, click on the "Remove all" button or on the "Enable" link in the "Screens disabled" line. After clicking, you will be able to activate the program's functions and return the virus protection to your computer.
