A plotter is a large format printer that is used to print large diagrams, maps, and drawings. You can also use a plotter to print Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel files. To do this, you need to change some print settings and adjust the page size.
Instructions
Step 1
Open Microsoft Word editor and select the file to plot on the plotter.
Step 2
Click on "File" in the menu and then the "Page Setup" button. Select the "Preferences" option from the drop-down menu and click the Microsoft Word button. Select the Use User Defined Page Size check box.
Step 3
Enter the page size. The maximum page size in Microsoft Word is 22 square inches. When you are finished entering, click the OK button.
Step 4
Select Settings from the drop-down menu and click the Page Setup button. Select the required format for the plotter in the Format section. Click the Paper Size drop-down menu button and select the size you want.
Step 5
Click the "Print" button and check that the plotter is set as the printer. Click the "Pages & Copies" drop-down menu button and set it to "Print Options". Set the Mode option to Automatic and make sure the slider is set to Quality.
Step 6
Click the Media Type drop-down menu button and select the type of paper you are using. You can select Normal or another option depending on the type and thickness of the paper you are using. Click "Print" and the plotter will start printing your document. To print your presentation slides, go to the next step.
Step 7
Open PowerPoint and select the presentation file that you want to print to the plotter.
Step 8
Click File on the menu and then the Page Setup button. Set "Slide Size" to "Custom". Set values for Width and Height. Select Landscape for the orientation of the slides. Click OK.
Step 9
Click "File" on the menu bar and then the "Print" button. Select the desired printer and click the Properties button. Select a Landscape orientation for the layout, and then click the Advanced button. For Paper / Output, select Custom Page Size and click the Resize Page button. Enter values for Width and Height. Select Short Side First for Paper Feed Direction. Click OK when done. Click “Print” and the plotter will start printing the slides.
