Step 1
If you have a CD with drivers or software for this plotter, insert its drive and install the necessary files. If there is no such disk, then download the necessary files from the website of the company that developed this device.

Update the plotter drivers and make sure the device is recognized by the system. In this case, it does not matter at all which port you use to connect the computer to the plotter. Make sure the printing device is turned on.

Open the "Start" menu and select "Devices and Printers". Wait while scanning for new devices is complete. In the "Printers and Faxes" column, find the plotter icon and double-click on it with the left mouse button.

Configure the settings for the plotter. For this, it is better to use the installed software. Typically, you need to select the following options: - Feed (determines how the paper is fed and its type); - Roll width; - Paper size; - Printable area.

When using the 2-sided printing function, set additional parameters for the plotter operation. Specify the location of the bindings along the long and short edges of the sheet. If you are using a pen plotter, adjust the pen settings. Be sure to indicate their thickness and speed. In this case, it is recommended to use certain parameters for each individual pen. Be sure to enable the pen change request feature if present in this software.

Set additional parameters for the plotter. Pay particular attention to setting up devices that support color printing. This will save you paint and get the best drawing quality.
