Zip folders in a modern personal computer are simple archives, that is, folders that have been compressed to reduce the space occupied by the folder on the computer. Once compressed, files and folders take up much less space than before, but to open them, you must first extract the archive into a new folder.

Step 1
First, select the archive you want to open by clicking on it with the left mouse button once. Then click on it once with the right mouse button. In the pop-up menu, select the "Extract files …" line.
Step 2
This will open the window for configuring the extraction of files from the archive. In this window, you can specify the archive extraction path, the name of the folder into which you want to extract the compressed files. It also provides advanced archive extraction settings.
Step 3
After specifying all the data you need, click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.
Step 4
After clicking the "OK" button, the process of extracting folders and files from the archive will start. This process may take some time, depending on the size of the files and the performance of your computer.
