Comfortable work on the computer is impossible without correct settings. Depending on personal preference, the user can adjust the screen resolution, cursor movement speed, folder opening options and other parameters. In particular, folders can be opened with one or two clicks.
Instructions
Step 1
To configure the opening of folders with one click of the mouse, in the Windows XP operating system open: "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Folder Options". Under the General tab, find the Mouse Clicks section at the bottom of the window.
Step 2
Select One-Click Open, Select With Pointer and click OK. In the same section, you can also customize the appearance of the underline by choosing Underline Icon Captions or Underline Icon Captions on Hover. The second option is more convenient, since the folder names will be underlined only when you hover over them.
Step 3
In the Windows 7 operating system, setting the opening of folders is carried out in a similar way - open the "Control Panel" and select "Folder Options". You can open the same window from any folder by clicking "Organize" and selecting "Folder Options" in the menu that opens. There is also a third option - click "Start", type "folder options" in the search bar and press "Enter". Further configuration is performed in the same way as in Windows XP.
Step 4
Be sure to adjust the cursor speed by opening Control Panel and selecting Mouse - Pointer Options. Drag the slider to set the cursor to the desired speed. If you double-click to open folders, you can also set the double-click speed there. Generally, advanced users set the cursor movement and double-click speed to a higher level.
Step 5
When working with a liquid crystal monitor, be sure to enable the ClearType option; without it, fonts on the screen will be displayed poorly. Open "Control Panel" - "ClearType Setting". Check the box next to "Enable ClearType", then click the "Run Wizard" button. In the window that opens, select the text quality option that you like best.
