While working on a computer, the user may experience different situations. Sometimes you need to hide a window from a stranger, but it is not always convenient to close active applications. There are several ways to hide the window.
Instructions
Step 1
If you need to hide the window without closing it, click on the "Minimize" button. Most of the standard windows are decorated in the same way. Find the [-] icon in the upper right corner of the window and left-click on it. Information about active applications and open folders is still displayed at the bottom of the screen, so you can call your minimized window from the taskbar at any time.
Step 2
To hide one window behind other windows, launch multiple applications at the same time or open multiple folders. Switch from one window to another if necessary. If the second window is maximized (you see it under your active window), left-click in any area of the inactive window. The windows will swap places. Alternatively, use alt="Image" and Tab or Win and Tab to switch between windows.
Step 3
Minimize the window. To do this, move the mouse cursor to the lower right corner of the window, wait until the cursor takes the form of a double-sided diagonal arrow, and, while holding down the left mouse button, move the cursor to the left and up. The window will be reduced to a small, inconspicuous panel that can be positioned anywhere on the desktop.
Step 4
The window can be hidden outside the desktop. Move the mouse cursor to the top of the window (above the top menu bar), while holding down the left mouse button, move the window outside the boundaries of the desktop. Don't worry about not being able to return the window later - any window hidden in this way will have a visible area of a few millimeters, over which it can be dragged to its original place. You can also right-click on the window name on the taskbar and select the "Expand" command.
Step 5
To hide information about running applications and open windows on the taskbar, hide it too. To do this, right-click in any free area of the taskbar and select the "Properties" item in the drop-down menu. In the window that opens, go to the "Taskbar" tab and set the marker in the "Automatically hide the taskbar" field in the "Taskbar appearance" group. Apply new settings, close the window.
Step 6
Now the taskbar will be outside the desktop most of the time, and the information contained on it will not be visible. To access the taskbar, move the mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen and wait a few seconds - the panel will pop up. It can also be invoked by pressing the Windows key (with a flag) on the keyboard.
