When personal computers are connected locally in the Windows operating system, it is possible to exchange files. In order to transfer a file from one computer to another, you need to open public access to the folder in which the file is located. To disable file transfer, you need to stop sharing folders and files.

Step 1
First, go to the directory on your hard disk containing the folder you want to close access to.
Step 2
Select a folder with one click with the left mouse button and then click on it once with the right mouse button. The folder actions menu will appear.
Step 3
In the menu that appears, select the "Properties" line. A window with folder properties will open.
You can also open the sharing options for a folder by selecting the "Sharing and Security" line in the action menu above the folder.
Step 4
In the window that opens, activate the "Access" tab. This tab reflects the sharing options for the folder.
Step 5
To disable shared access to a folder, check the box next to "Stop sharing this folder."
