If you decide to reinstall the operating system, be aware that a good half of the programs will also have to be restored. Some applications can function perfectly even if they are copied to a computer in an already installed state, so they are not in danger of reinstallation. However, as far as anti-virus programs, in particular Kaspersky Anti-Virus, are concerned, you cannot do without re-installing and copying the key.
Necessary
- - installation file of the anti-virus program;
- - Internet access;
- - antivirus activation code (included in the package);
- - personal client number and password.
Instructions
Step 1
If you already have the key, run the antivirus. Select in the main window of the program, on the left side of it, the item "Activation". In the window "Activating your copy" you will see a block called "Purchase a key". Select the "Install key" sub-item in it.
Step 2
A new window will open. In it, find and select the item "Activate the previously received key", click on the "Browse" button, specify the path to the key file. Click the "Open" button.
Step 3
In the next window, click the "Next" button, then "Finish".
Step 4
If you want to reinstall Kaspersky Anti-Virus and continue using the license, first get a new key and save it before reinstalling. It is very easy to do this, because the antivirus program in question compares favorably with many similar ones in that the key is a separate file. So that after reinstalling the anti-virus software you can continue to use the license, go to the page https://activation.kaspersky.com/ru/. As you can see, this is a safe link to the official site.
Step 5
Enter your data in the appropriate fields, namely the activation code, client number and password, the code from the picture (captcha) and click on the "Next" button. You will be sent a new key, which will allow you to use the activated version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus.
Step 6
If you do not have access to the Internet, transfer your Kaspersky registration data using the Windows registry. To do this, before starting the reinstallation of the system and the anti-virus program, run the registry editor from the command line of the Start menu. To do this, press the key combination Win + R or enter the "Start" menu and click on the "Run" item. Then enter regedit.
Step 7
Find the registry branches with the following names:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Microsoft / SystemCertificates / SPC;
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / KasperskyLab / LicStorage.
Save them as reg files (registry files).
Step 8
After reinstalling the OS, add the data from both files to the registry. Now you can reinstall the antivirus itself.
