Step 1
Installation of the necessary equipment. Install network cards following the instructions. It's all.
Step 2
Setting up and / or checking the connection to the Internet. Connecting to the World Wide Web is not at all necessary to connect and set up a home network, but some users need an Internet connection to the entire network. With a DSL modem or cable and an account with a network service provider, open the Internet Connection Wizard and follow the instructions. The existing connection only needs to be checked. Using a web browser, we go to a website that you don't see much. If there are no problems with this, the Internet is working properly.
Step 3
Connection of computers. It all depends on the type of network cards, the speed of the Internet connection and the modem.
Ethernet networks. You need to connect computers with Ethernet adapters with a hub, router or switch.
Wireless network. Here, again, you need a router. If it is available, run the wizard for installing the router for the wireless network or its access point on the computer that is connected to the router.
HPNA networks require an HPNA network adapter installed in each computer and have telephone jacks within reach.
Step 4
Checking the network. After completing the connection of all computers, you need to check the network for operability. To check it, we perform the following actions on each of the computers in the network: click the Start button, then click on Network. The icons for each of the computers connected to the network should be displayed.
