The main problem with a home LAN is that the Internet channel is shared among all active devices. If you need to provide a higher access speed for a specific PC or laptop, then the network must be turned off.

Step 1
There are several options for disconnecting most computers from your home network. Many of these depend on how the network is created. If your home network is built using a network hub and one of the PCs acts as a server, then there are two options for turning it off. Just unplug the network cable that connects the computer to the hub. To do this, disconnect it either from the network device or from the PC card.
Step 2
If access to both devices is very difficult, then use the software method to disconnect the network. Open Network and Sharing Center (Windows 7). Select the Change adapter settings menu. Right-click on the icon of the local network you want to disable. Select Disable.

If for some reason you could not complete the shutdown procedure using the above method, open the properties of the "Computer" menu and go to the device manager. Find the required network adapter in the list of connected equipment. Right-click on it and select "Disable". Confirm to disconnect the device.
Step 4
If your network is built using a router or router, perform software shutdown of computers using the settings of the network equipment. Log into the web interface of the router settings. Find the Status or Network Status menu. Find a list of active ports or connected devices.
Step 5
Now click the Disable button next to the port or device you want to disconnect from the network. Repeat this process to disconnect any redundant devices.
Step 6
Use mechanical disconnection of cables from the LAN ports of the router if you were unable to lock the equipment using the settings menu of the network device.
