When setting up a home network, or in a conversation with your Internet provider, it is sometimes required to indicate the MAC address of your network card. To find it out, you need to follow a few simple steps.
Necessary
- - computer
- - Windows operating system
- - built-in or discrete network card
Instructions
Step 1
In the "Start" menu, select "Run …", or press the key combination Winkey + R. In the entry field that appears, type the command "cmd" (without quotes) and press the Enter key.
Step 2
A console will open, in which you need to type the command "ipconfig / all" (without quotes). The program will display information about the network name and address of the computer (first block), and below - information about the network adapter. The line "Physical address" is the MAC address of your network card. The MAC address looks like six hexadecimal digits separated by hyphens, for example: 40-61-86-E5-3D-E1.
