There are two options for installing the operating system on specific mobile computers. In the first case, you will need an external DVD drive, and in the second, a prepared USB drive.

Necessary

  • - external DVD-Rom;
  • - USB storage.

Instructions

Step 1

If you have the option to connect the DVD drive to the USB port of the netbook, follow this procedure. Insert the installation disk with Windows operating system archives into the device.

Step 2

Turn on the netbook and launch the Quick Boot menu. To do this, press a specific key indicated in the start window. After a while, a window for selecting a boot device will appear.

Step 3

Highlight External DVD-Rom with the cursor. Press the Enter key. Further installation should proceed as usual.

Step 4

Not everyone can purchase an external drive just to install the system. If you are not using disk drives, create an installation flash card. To create a boot sector, you need the WinSetupFromUSB program.

Step 5

Remember that it is possible to create an installation USB flash drive through the command line. Its obvious disadvantage is that you need a computer with a DVD drive to burn certain files from disc. If this PC is missing, download the installation disk image and extract all files from it.

Step 6

Connect the USB flash drive to the netbook and run the WinSetupFromUSB program. Select the required drive in the first field and click the BootIce button. Go to Perform Format mode and enable the USB-HDD option. If you are using an external hard drive, select the Multiple Partition mode. This will allow you to allocate a specific section of the disk for the boot sector.

Step 7

Click Next Step and confirm your changes in the following dialog boxes. After opening the main menu of the WinSetupFromUSB program, select the type of operating system (Windows XP or Vista / Seven). Browse to the directory where you extracted the image files.

Step 8

Click the Go button. After the program finishes, remove the drive. Connect it to the netbook on which the system will be installed. Turn on the device and launch the Quick Boot menu. Select USB-HDD and set up the system as usual.
