Not more than 10 years ago, when it was necessary to install an operating system on a hard disk, computer users had to boot from floppy disks, enter commands and remember the basics of operating in a dos environment. Fortunately, time does not stand still, and today you can install a system on a hard drive in a much faster and more convenient way. But first, to do this, you need to correctly create the installation disc.
Instructions
Step 1
Download the installation disk image to your computer. Most often, a disk image is an archive file with an ISO extension. The archivers installed in the system perceive it as one of the types of archives and allow you to open it and view its contents. They can also unzip the contents of the ISO file, but this should not be done, since disc images are not burned to media by standard Windows burning.
Step 2
Use a CD / DVD burning program to create an installation disc. The most famous programs of this kind are Nero and Ashampoo Burning Studio. You can use others if they allow you to record images. Insert the disc into the drive and start the burning program.
Step 3
We will describe further actions using the Ashampoo Burning Studio program as an example. Despite the differences in the interface, the general principle of operation for all programs of this kind will be the same. Select on the left side of the window the menu "Create / Burn disc image", and in the pop-up window - "Burn CD / DVD / Blu-ray disc from disc image". Next, specify the path to the downloaded ISO file, select the burn speed and click "Burn".
Step 4
In order to use the installation disc, do not forget to set the initial boot from CD-ROM in the BIOS.
