Many mobile computer manufacturers create a recovery partition when installing an operating system. It is designed to quickly restore the original state of Windows in the event of a failure in its work.
Necessary
- - "Administrator" account;
- - Partition Manager.
Instructions
Step 1
This partition can be removed to free up hard disk space. Naturally, after cleaning this volume, you can combine it with other local disks or perform any other operations. You can get rid of an unnecessary partition using standard Windows tools. Open the control panel and go to the "Administrative Tools" item.
Step 2
It can usually be accessed through the System and Security menu. Now select "Computer Management" and find the "Disk Management" section.
Step 3
Right-click on the graphical image of the recovery partition. Select "Delete section". Click the "Yes" button to confirm the operation.
Step 4
If you do not have access to the Administration menu, install the Partition Manager program (you can use Acronis Disk Director). Restart your computer to complete the installation of the application. Start Partition Manager by clicking on the program shortcut.
Step 5
From the Quick Launch menu, select Delete Partition. In the new window, click the "Next" button. Left-click on the local recovery drive and click the "Next" button. Close the preliminary preparation window and click the "Apply pending changes" button.
Step 6
After deleting the section, open the main menu of the application and select the "Create section" item. Set the size of the future local disk. Select the file system (NTFS is recommended). Enter a volume label (optional) and click Next. Click the Apply Pending Changes button again. Format the created section. Close the Partition Manager program.
