The epub (Electronic Publication) format was developed by the International Digital Publishing Forum - IDPF - in 2007 with the support of Adobe. It is designed to create e-books and documents that can be read not only on a PC, but also on mobile devices. Adobe Digital Editions Home
This is a convenient and functional application for reading electronic documents. The program works with a wide variety of formats, including epub and pdf. Using Adobe Digital Editions Home, you can not only open and read an epub document, but also organize your digital library. The program allows you to download books, sort them by author or topic, read online and offline, make bookmarks, add comments.
To transfer purchased e-books to other devices, you will need to register your computer with the software manufacturer's website using your Adobe ID.

If you use Mozilla Firefox to work on the Internet, then you can read books in epub format right in your browser by installing the EPUBReader extension. There is a similar extension for Google Chrome called MagicScroll.

There are no editing functions, but viewing documents is organized very conveniently, the appearance of the book can be customized in accordance with your preferences. Another versatile e-book reader. Alreader supports various document formats, including epub. The application has many features. In addition to the standard options for choosing a color scheme, font settings, text alignment, switching to one- and two-page view mode, alreader supports GoldenDict, ColorDict 3, Fora Dictionary, Lingvo and some others. There is a function for choosing an encoding for an open document.

The application supports the search function, offers flexible settings for navigating through the text, and supports the display of footnotes.
