Modern computers support a variety of audio input and output equipment. You can connect almost any microphone to make calls, record your own voice, and post-process it. To do this, you need to connect the device to a computer and make the necessary settings.

Step 1
The microphone is connected to the computer using the corresponding socket on the sound card located inside the case. Any modern computer or laptop has two or three holes for installing audio devices. Typically, the speaker and microphone jacks are located on the back of your computer or on the side of your laptop. Also, some desktop systems allow you to connect devices through the front of the computer, which in turn is connected to the sound card.
Step 2
The microphone jack is usually painted pinkish, and on some panels this jack is indicated by a special icon. Insert the microphone plug into this jack.
Step 3
To check if the device is working properly after inserting the plug into the socket, open the Sound menu. To do this, go to "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Hardware and Sound" - "Sound". In the window that appears, select the "Recording" - "Microphone" tab. Click Properties.
Step 4
Go to the Levels panel and adjust the required parameters. To increase the microphone volume, move the Microphone slider to the right. To amplify the sound, you can also use the Microphone Amplification section.
Step 5
To check the sound quality of the device, in the same window, select the "Listen" tab. Connect your speakers and headphones to your computer and check the box next to "Listen from this device". Click "Ok".
Step 6
Some modern computer microphones plug into the USB port. Insert the plug of the device into the computer and install the driver, which should come with the microphone in the kit. If there is no disk, download the drivers by going to the website of your device manufacturer and selecting the appropriate section in the resource menu.
