You can often find motherboards that are endowed with two PCI-Express slots. These devices support the synchronous operation of two video cards, which can improve the performance of graphics devices.

Step 1
First, make sure that the motherboard of your computer supports synchronous operation of two video cards. Check your motherboard documentation. Look for CrossFire or SLI markings. These modes are used for video cards from ATI and Nvidia, respectively.
Step 2
Select the video adapters whose work you will synchronize. It is important to understand that not all video cards are suitable in this situation. Buy two graphics accelerators from the same manufacturer.
Step 3
Be sure to make sure that the selected video cards support dual-channel operation. When choosing video adapters from ATI (Radeon), you can use cards of the same series. This means that device models should look something like this: HD Radeon 5xxx.
Step 4
Remember that the real performance of a more powerful video card will be reduced to the level of a weaker adapter.
Step 5
Turn off your computer. Install both video adapters in PCI-Express slots. In this situation, the monitor cable must be connected to the devices through a special adapter. Connecting the display to a video adapter as standard will not improve the performance of your graphics devices.
Step 6
If you plan to connect multiple displays to the adapters, do not use a bridge adapter. This scheme will allow you to expand the image to multiple displays.
Step 7
Install drivers for your computer motherboard. Use the set of files and applications that activates the SLI (CrossFire) mode of video adapters.
Step 8
Update the drivers for your video cards. Run the installed application and activate the dual-channel mode of graphics accelerators. Adjust the parameters of the video cards. Disable unnecessary features. Please note that you cannot configure each board separately. This means that both devices must support activatable options.
