Laptop battery life is a hot issue for many users. If you follow certain rules, the charge will be consumed more slowly and the battery will last longer.
Necessary
- Notebook;
- Laptop battery;
- Laptop power supply;
- Operating system with power management capability;
- User profile in the system.
Instructions
Step 1
Right click on the battery icon in the lower right side of the screen. This is usually a picture of a battery and a plug. Select Power Options. Select the Energy Saving scheme. Click on "Configure Power Scheme".
Step 2
In the On Battery options column, select the lowest values for Display Dim and Display Off. This value is usually 1 minute.
Step 3
For the "Put the computer to sleep" option, choose the time that is most convenient for you. The optimal value may be "5 min". In the line "Adjust brightness", move the switch to the lowest value.
Step 4
Turn off your laptop. Gently remove accumulated dust from the laptop by opening the case. Dust can interfere with cooling and thus increase energy consumption. Be careful not to remove anything other than the fan.
Step 5
Replace the fan and close the case. Plug in your laptop and charge the battery fully. When the battery is fully charged, the charge indicator on the front of the laptop case glows green.
Step 6
Turn on the laptop on battery power. If the Energy Saver power plan is not automatically selected, select it manually. To do this, left-click on the battery icon and select "Energy Saver".
