Users who care about the safety of important data periodically create backups of the hard disk or its partitions. To carry out this process, it is recommended to use special utilities.
Necessary
- - Partition Manager;
- - additional hard drive.
Instructions
Step 1
If you need to create a copy of a hard disk that does not have an operating system installed, then just copy all the data from it. Connect an optional hard drive or portable USB storage device.
Step 2
Open explorer or another file manager, select all files and folders of hard disk partitions and copy them to another device. To ensure the best possible backup, use the Partition Manager program.
Step 3
Install the utility and run it. Open the "Wizards" tab. Select Copy Hard Drive. Please note that you will need an additional hard drive to complete this process.
Step 4
In the next window, specify the hard drive you want to copy. Click the Next button to go to the next menu item.
Step 5
A window titled Select Destination Disk will open. Specify the hard drive where you want to place a copy of the previous one. Click "Next". To ensure security and create an exact copy of the selected disk, activate the "Direct access to sectors of the hard disk" function. Click the Next button to open the preview menu.
Step 6
If you have specified the correct parameters, then click the "Next" button and then "Finish". Now open the "Changes" tab and select "Apply Changes".
Step 7
If you need to create a copy of the system partition of the hard disk, then you do not need to use additional programs. Open the control panel and go to the "System and Security" menu. Open the Backup and Restore menu.
Step 8
Select "Create a system image". Select the system partition to be copied and specify the storage location for the future copy. Click the "Archive" button to start the process. In this case, you can even use a non-system hard disk partition.
