Instructions

Step 1

Turn on the computer by pressing the Power button and identify the function keys that this model uses to enter the BIOS. This information is displayed at the very beginning of the download at the bottom of the screen. In most cases, these are the Del or F2 keys. Press them several times and wait until you enter the desired mode.

Step 2

The appearance of the BIOS may differ for different computer models. In BIOS AMI go to the Boot tab of the upper service panel of the main window and open the Boot Device Priority link in the left panel. Note that all actions in BIOS mode are performed using the up and down arrow keys.

Step 3

Select 1st Boot Device and use the + and - keys to set the CD-ROM option. Also, the performance of the required action can be achieved by calling a special menu, which will open if you press the function key Enter.

Step 4

Go to the Exit tab in the main BIOS menu and select Exit & Save Changes. Confirm the saving of the changes made by clicking the OK button in the system request window that opens.

Step 5

In the Award BIOS, open the Advanced BIOS Features link and select the Boot Device Priority item. Please note that the names of these menu items may differ in different models: - Advanced Setup; - Bios Features Setup; - Boot Device Select; - First Boot Device8 - Boot Sequence.

Step 6

Set the CD-ROM as the primary boot device in the First Boot Device line and use the Esc softkey to return to the main BIOS menu. Select the Exit & Save Changes command and confirm the saving of the changes made by clicking OK in the system prompt window that opens.

Step 7

Setting the disk as the primary boot device can also be performed by the user without setting up the BIOS. To do this, just use the F8 function key when turning on the computer to call up a special boot menu.
