Take a mini-jack headphone and connect it to the soundbar on your motherboard. Do not use the pink and green jacks for this, as they are traditionally used for microphone and speaker respectively.
Step 2
If your headphones have a 6.35 mm jack, purchase a special jack to mini-jack adapter and connect it to the motherboard in the same way.
Step 3
As a rule, modern sound drivers have advanced settings. These include setting the role of a particular socket on the soundbar of the motherboard by selecting a device profile for this connector. In order to do this, open the "Start" menu in which select "Control Panel".
Step 4
In the Control Panel, select the Sound, Speech and Audio Devices category. In the icon tile, you will see the control panel icon for your onboard sound card. Open it.
Step 5
Consider the case for the most common sound controller manufacturer Realtek. In the Realtek Audio Configuration window, go to the Audio I / O tab. On this tab, you will find a diagram of the connected devices. Select the color of the jack where you plugged the headphones. In front of the colored socket icon, click on the illuminated (active) device.

In the "Device Type" window that appears, select "Headphones" and click on "OK" to confirm the change.

If there is no sound through the headphones, open the volume control. To do this, double-click the left mouse button on the speaker icon in the system tray. Next, find the desired knob on the Master Volume panel and make sure that the fader is not pushed all the way down or that the Off option is not enabled under the desired knob. Accordingly, if there is a check mark, uncheck it and bring the regulator to the desired level.
