Quite often, people have a question: what to do if the cooler is constantly making noise? Nowadays, there are many ways to solve this problem. The cooler can be repaired without special tools.
Instructions
Step 1
Unscrew the cooler from the power supply. Then peel off the sticker. Dust and refill with liquid engine oil. It is not recommended to use sunflower oil. Be sure to clean between the propeller and the housing. Oil should be poured in moderate doses. Usually a few drops are enough. Quite often, noise occurs due to the fact that the screw knocks on the case. In this case, you need to file the blades a little.
Step 2
You can use another way. Its plus is that you do not need to unscrew anything. Pick up a spitz with a needle. Fill it with oil. Then use a needle to pierce the sticker and the plastic plug above it. Some effort needs to be applied. Insert oil under the plug. The renovation is completed. As a result, you do not need to disassemble and assemble the cooler. This method does not work in all cases. There are coolers, the middle of which is hidden by a casing grille. In this case, you need to try to unscrew the power supply. This shouldn't be a problem.
Step 3
If after lubrication the cooler also makes noise, then you can try to reduce its speed. To do this, unscrew the power supply housing. There you will see 2 laces that go to the propeller. Find "+" - it's usually red. Cut it in the middle. Solder the variable resistor. Rotate it slowly and look for the moment when the propeller will spin without assistance when turned on. This should be done so that the disks in the drive do not heat up. The power supply will operate normally. It is best to let the unit run for a few hours. Make sure it does not overheat. If heating occurs, reduce resistance.
Step 4
After that, turn off the power and measure the resistance of the resistor. Find the same resistor in advance, but so that it has a constant resistance. Solder it to the place where the variable was located. Wrap with electrical tape or other insulating material. Screw the power back on.
