Sharing is possible to folders, files, resources and entire hard drives. You can specify the number of allowed users of a shared folder or resource. This number is limited by the terms of the software licensing.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button to bring up the main menu and go to "Control Panel".
Step 2
Open "Administrative Tools" by double-clicking. Open "Computer Management" by double-clicking.
Step 3
Make sure the action in the User Account Control window is what you want and click Continue.
Step 4
Select "Utilities" in the console tree and navigate to "Shared Folders".
Step 5
Specify "Resources" and find the folder or drive you want to limit the number of users for.
Step 6
Call the service menu by right-clicking on the field of the required folder or disk and select the "Properties" command.
Step 7
Specify the desired option in the User Limit section of the General tab. Use the Maximum Possible button to specify the maximum number of users. Use the Maximum User option to specify the maximum user limit. Enter the desired number and click OK to apply the command. Alternatively, you can use the command line to limit the number of users on a folder or drive.
Step 8
Return to the Start menu and go to All Programs.
Step 9
Specify "Standard" and call the service menu by right-clicking on the "Command line" field.
Step 10
Select "Run as administrator".
Step 11
Make sure the action in the User Account Control window is what you want and click Continue.
Step 12
Enter the value net share the name of the folder or resource / users: a number, where net share is to create and delete a shared folder or resource, and number is the limit on the number of users who can access the selected folder or resource.
