Partition Manager
Instructions
Step 1
First, clean the hard drive and its partitions from unnecessary information. Delete old unnecessary files. Pay special attention to video files because they tend to take up a lot of space.
Step 2
If you have already deleted all unnecessary items, and there is still not enough space, then use the Disk Cleanup utility. Press the combination of the Win and E buttons. The My Computer menu opens. Right-click on the hard disk partition on which you want to increase free space.
Step 3
Open the properties of this logical drive. Find the Disk Cleanup button at the bottom of the window that appears and click it. Wait while the system scans the partition for unused files. Select unnecessary fragments and click the "Delete" button.
Step 4
Repeat this operation with the rest of the hard disk partitions, if any. If you need to increase the space of a non-system partition, open its properties.
Step 5
Turn on the "Shrink this disk to save space" option and click the "Apply" button. Wait until the disk shrinking operation completes.
Step 6
In the event that you need to increase the volume of the system partition of the hard disk, use the Partition Manager program. Download the version of this utility suitable for your OS and install it.
Step 7
Start Partition Manager. Find the "Wizards" tab on the toolbar and open it. Go to the "Additional functions" submenu and select "Redistribute free space".
Step 8
Click the "Next" button in the window that appears. Select the system partition, because it is it that needs to be expanded. Click "Next". Specify one or more partitions from which unallocated space will be separated. Click "Next".
Step 9
Enter the new size for the system partition. Click the Next button and then the Finish button. If you are sure that the entered settings are correct, click the Apply Pending Changes button.
