It is not always easy to find the desired album or song on the computer among the huge number of folders with audio files. Often, music files do not have the necessary attributes by which media player programs organize music in their library, and this is precisely the key to bringing complete "musical" order to the computer.

Instructions

Step 1

If your computer has accumulated several tens of gigabytes of music, get ready for serious and long-term work, and if you have just started collecting your media library, then you will manage faster. Start by sorting your existing songs into separate folders. These can be albums by artists, collections of genres or topics. When you have finished this work, proceed to the next step.

Step 2

Search the internet for album and compilation covers. These can be both official images and any pictures of your choice. But do not forget that it is by these covers that you will later navigate in your music library, so the picture must be informative, or you will have to apply the appropriate text on it in any available graphic editor.

Step 3

In the next step of the work, you will need an editor for ID3 tags for MP3 files. With the help of such a program, you can "sew" your cover into the musical compositions of each individual folder and add descriptions for the files by which the media player program will sort them in its library. Use the Mp3Tag program, which can be downloaded for free on the official website at www.mp3tag.de

Step 4

Launch the application after installation, drag the first folder into it, select all files, add an album cover and enter the appropriate text in the Album Artist and Album Name fields. The rest of the fields can be left unchanged so as not to waste too much time on this work. Click the "Save" button and proceed to another folder. Follow the same steps for all music folders.

Step 5

Once you have finished editing the ID3 tags, you will have a virtually finished music library. And to make it convenient to search for music and play the desired songs and albums, you will need any advanced media player, for example, iTunes from Apple. Download the program on the official website at www.apple.com and launch it on your computer

Step 6

Drag each folder in turn to the "Music" section and you will see how your music collection turns into a convenient and beautiful list of albums. In iTunes, you can change the view of your music collection, quickly find any song or artist, and start playing. Now your music will be in perfect order!
