In the Microsoft Office Word program, you can work not only with text, but also with graphic objects, links, and tables. The editor has built-in tools that allow the user to design the table at his own discretion, drawing it himself or using ready-made layouts, change its appearance by removing or adding columns and rows.
Instructions
Step 1
Start the text editor Microsoft Office Word and create (or open) the desired document. Go to the "Insert" tab and click in the "Table" section on the thumbnail button of the same name. Select the required number of squares horizontally and vertically to set the parameters of the table, or select "Draw Table".
Step 2
In the second case, the cursor will become a pencil. Draw a table with this pencil, draw the required number of columns and rows. To exit the drawing mode, select the "Draw table" item from the menu again - the cursor will remain the same.
Step 3
After the table is created, the "Working with Tables" context menu becomes available. To activate it, place your mouse cursor in any area of your table. There are several ways to add columns.
Step 4
Click the Design tab and select the Draw Table tool again. Draw a vertical line with a pencil where you want to add a new column in the table. Exit drawing mode, adjust the column width.
Step 5
Alternatively, click the Layout tab. Use the mouse to highlight the column. In the "Rows and Columns" section, click on one of the buttons. The "Insert to the left" button will add a new column to the left of the selected one, the "Insert to the right" button will add a new column, respectively, to the right of the selected column.
Step 6
The next option: in the same section, click on the button in the form of a diagonal arrow, - the "Add cells" window will open. Highlight the "Insert whole column" item with a marker and press the OK button.
Step 7
If you need to add several columns at once, select the same number of columns in the table as you are going to insert, and click on the "Add on the left" or "Add on the right" button. The table will grow by the allocated number of columns.
