Computer malfunctions, power surges, emergency power outages - all this can lead to the fact that the data of electronic documents will be lost. In this case, some applications provide the ability to automatically save files.
Instructions
Step 1
Autosave option is available in Microsoft Office applications. In Word and Excel, it is enabled in a similar way, with minor differences only in the names of the options. To enable automatic saving in a text editor, start Microsoft Word. In the upper left corner, click on the Office icon. At the bottom of the expanded menu, click the Word Options button. A new dialog box will open.
Step 2
In the left part of the window, select the "Saving" section by clicking on it with the left mouse button. In the "Save documents" field, find the "Autosave every" option and mark it with a marker. A window for entering values is located opposite this option. Use the available arrows or keys on the keyboard to specify the required number of minutes (the default interval is 10 minutes, but this is not always convenient). Click on the OK button at the bottom of the window or press Enter to save the new parameters.
Step 3
Automatic saving of files is also provided in some graphic editors, for example, in Adobe Photoshop, starting from version CS6. To enable it, start the editor and choose Edit from the menu bar. In the submenu, left-click on the "Preferences" item and then - "File Handling" (Edit - Preferences - File Handling). A new dialog box will open.
Step 4
In the File Compatibility box, check the box next to Automatically Save Recovery Information Every. In the values window, set the appropriate time interval by selecting the appropriate item in the drop-down list (5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes and 1 hour). Apply the new settings by clicking on the OK button.
