Page break is a fairly convenient feature that allows you to style the text in a Microsoft Office Word document exactly as the user needs. Both manual and automatic placement of gaps are possible. There are special tools for this type of text editing in the program.
Instructions
Step 1
Create a document in Word or open an existing one. To insert a forced page break, position the mouse cursor where you want to start a new page in the text. Click on the "Insert" tab. In the "Pages" group (by default it occupies the leftmost position on the toolbar), click the button in the form of an arrow.
Step 2
From the context menu, select the Page Break command. All text to the right of the cursor will move to the next page. If the need arises, you can complete the text before which the break is inserted, and there will be no offset on the next page.
Step 3
If you need to add a page break before a specific paragraph, select that paragraph and go to the Page Layout tab. In the Paragraph group, click the arrow button. A new window will open. Go to the tab “Position on the page” and mark the “From new page” field in the “Pagination” section with a marker.
Step 4
You can do the same without going to the Page Layout tab. Select the paragraph you need and just right-click in the text. Select "Paragraph" from the drop-down menu. Next, apply the settings described in the previous step. To undo the insertion of a break, select the two paragraphs between which it was inserted, open the "Paragraph" window again and remove the marker from the "From a new page" field.
Step 5
If you are working with tables, information on how to prevent table rows from breaking when switching to a new page may help you. Select the entire table, after which the "Working with Tables" context menu will become available. Open it and select the Layout tab. Click on the "Properties" button in the "Table" group. In the window that opens, go to the "Line" tab and uncheck the "Allow line wrapping to the next page" field (this option is enabled by default).
