We bought a new disk with an operating system and inserted it into the drive, and it loads only when the operating system is running. But you need to reinstall the system. And what can be done? Should I go change the disk? Nothing of the kind - he's okay.
Instructions
Step 1
Enter the BIOS (Basic Input / Output System) settings of your personal computer. To do this, during the initial boot of the computer, press the button to open the BIOS settings menu. As a rule, the motherboard has its own splash screen, and it is displayed when the computer boots up. It is on the screen of this splash screen that a hint is displayed which key should be pressed to invoke the BIOS settings menu. Usually these are the Delete or F2 keys.
Step 2
Find your operating system boot order settings. It is difficult to say unequivocally how to find it, since the presentation of BIOS settings on different motherboards is different. Find the “Boot sequence” setting or the “First boot device”, “Second boot device” and “Third boot device” settings (respectively, the first, second and third device from which the computer will boot).
Step 3
Thus, to boot a disc with an operating system, put the CD / DVD in the first place (First boot device) (in some cases, a specific drive model may be indicated).
Step 4
After you make these changes, you need to save them. To do this, press the F10 key on the keyboard and confirm saving the changes in the corresponding dialog box.
Step 5
Insert the operating system disc into the drive and restart your computer. After that, the computer will start reading boot information from the disk in the drive, and the boot program written on this disk will display a menu for installing the operating system or loading some important utilities, if any on the disk. In some cases, you will need to press any button in order for the computer to load the disc in the drive, and the following message will be displayed on the screen: "Press any key to boot from CD / DVD …". Press any key on the keyboard.
