The popular graphics editor Adobe Photoshop allows you to work wonders with images - to make photomontages and collages, to improve the overall appearance of a photo or to change the appearance of a person depicted beyond recognition. But the possibilities of the program are not limited to this. Using standard tools, Photoshop can handle and edit video files quite successfully.

Instructions

Step 1

Convert video in any converter to.mov or.avi format - formats that Photoshop can recognize. Download Photoshop. Then click File → Import → Video Frames to Layers in the top menu. Click OK and Continue on the windows that appear.

Step 2

Wait for the video to be imported into layers in Photoshop. Alternatively, you can open the desired video file in another way: File → Open. After that, open the tab of the top menu Window and check the boxes next to Animation ("Animation") and Layers ("Layers"). Select the frame you want to edit by moving the slider to it in the Animation panel or by selecting it in the Layers palette.

Step 3

Click on the Image tab and expand the Adjustments group. Select the parameters of the context menu that appears to edit the Saturation, Hue, Lightness, including the brightness of certain colors (Selective Color), add a gradient (Gradient Map). Adjust the parameters with the sliders, saving the result by clicking on "OK".

Step 4

Reduce noise. In the Filter tab, select the Noise group and click on Reduce Noise. Adjust the noise reduction sliders to see what the video image will be like in the left side of the window.

Step 5

Process videos with Topaz Clean or Imagenomic Portraiture plugins, whose.exe files and activation keys can be found on the Internet. In Photoshop, open the Filter tab and the plugin will be displayed at the end of the list. Click on it to open a separate processing window. Adjust the sliders below for the best results. Click "Ok" in the lower right corner.

Step 6

Save the result with File → Export → Render Video. Name the file and in File Options select QuickTime Export (to have a video output) or Image Sequence (to get a sequence of images).
