"Ice Age 3" is a rare case when the developers of the game took the project seriously and tried to put the maximum variety and interesting possibilities into it. However, the product did not reach the ideal - the interface turned out to be too incomprehensible, and therefore many players cannot even understand how to save the game.
Instructions
Step 1
Ice Age 3 does not recognize Cyrillic in file directories. In practice, this means that the path where you install the game should contain only English letters, for example, F: / Games should be renamed to F: / Games. It is worth doing the same with the game save directory. By default, "saves" are located in the C: / Users / Username / Documents / My Games folder. Please note that the directory includes the name of the Windows profile: make sure it is written in Latin letters.
Step 2
Start the game. By default, a new game starts without saving, so you need to first go to the "Load" menu item and use the arrows to highlight the sector in which "No data" will be written. The specified slot will be further used for recording.
Step 3
You cannot save directly during the level. Throughout each location, special "checkpoints" are placed: if you die, the game will return you not to the start, but to the nearest such "safe" position. However, the "checkpoints" are only temporary, and if you have not completed the level to the end, but closed the game in the middle, then the next time you start the entire location you will have to go through from the very beginning.
Step 4
Ice Age 3 uses an autosave system between levels. If a spinning nut icon appears in the lower left corner of the screen, this means that the session has been saved, and the next time you start, you will start from the same place.
Step 5
Autosave does not occur after every action, therefore a manual "save" system was introduced, in order to avoid data loss, it should be used every time before closing the game window. It is called by the "Save" command in the pause menu.
Step 6
If for some reason the saving still does not work, then download the "save" on the Internet. The game allows you to complete each level several times, and therefore you can install the downloaded file in the directory with your walkthrough (indicated in the first step), and then enjoy the opportunity to start every time from any level.
