Save a copy of this file just in case before making any changes. Modify the contents of the motd.txt file. If you are using an html editor, you will see the result immediately while working. If you write in Notepad, then check what you have written by opening the file in a browser, after changing the file extension to htm.

Before copying the file to the server folder, make sure that the encoding of the generated file is UTF-8. Files with a different encoding will not display correctly. It is also worth noting that all browsers have different encoding settings. That is, this file can be displayed in different ways by users, so try to think about this moment. You can register several encodings at once.

You can find more detailed instructions and examples of welcome pages for the Counter-Strike server on the Internet on thematic forums or through search engines. Do not overload the welcome page with information, as players are unlikely to pay due attention to it.
