Logs (derived from the English log-book) are usually called records of the log (protocol) of events created by various applications in the course of operation. The log is a text file in which the event is displayed in one line with the time and some additional information.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the system and enter the value cmd in the search bar to initiate the enabling of the Windows firewall logs (for Windows 7 and Windows Vista).
Step 2
Call the context menu of the found result "Command Prompt" by clicking the right mouse button and select the command "Run as administrator" (for Windows 7 and Windows Vista).
Step 3
Enter netsh firewall set logging maxfilesize = 10240 in the Command Prompt text box and press the Enter function key to confirm the command to set the maximum log file size (for Windows 7 and Windows Vista).
Step 4
Use the value net firewall set logging connections = enable in the command line text box to enable connection logging and press Enter to confirm the command (for Windows 7 and Windows Vista).
Step 5
Exit the command line tool and restart your computer to apply the selected changes (for Windows 7 and Windows Vista).
Step 6
Expand the Information Store Site Configuration link in the Exchange Server Administrator section to perform the enable logging operation in Exchange Server 5.5 and go to the General tab of the program dialog box that opens.
Step 7
Check the Enable message tracking box and double-click the MTA Site Configuration link to enable the MTA file logging procedure.
Step 8
Go to the General tab of the application dialog box that opens and apply the checkbox to the Enable message tracking field.
Step 9
Double-click the Internet mail connector to open the link and go to the Internet mail tab in the program dialog box that opens.
Step 10
Check the Enable message tracking box and click OK to apply the selected changes.
