QIP is an alternative client for instant messaging via ICQ protocol. Initially, QIP was developed exclusively for personal use, but later gained immense popularity in Russia. Installing QIP on a computer is not much different from the standard installation of any programs.
Instructions
Step 1
The QIP program is distributed completely free of charge, and you can download its original distribution kit on the Internet at the project's official website. Recently, many varieties of QIP have appeared that support a huge variety of functions, but the most stable work on the transfer of instant messages over the ICQ protocol is provided by the so-called "Old QIP", the first assembly of which appeared in 2005. You can download the old QIP here https://download.qip.ru/qip2005_8097.exe (you can also download the distribution package zipped in.rar or.zip format)
Step 2
Double-click to launch the QIP 2005 executable file. In the first window that opens, select the language that will be used during the installation process and in the program interface. After clicking the OK button, the QIP 2005 Installation Wizard will open. During its operation, it is recommended to close the windows of all active applications. To proceed with the installation, click on the "Next" button.
Step 3
In the next window, select the folder where the program will be installed. By default, this directory will be located at: C: Program FilesQIP. In addition, in this window you can select the type of installation: complete or custom. In the custom installation mode, you will be given a choice whether or not to install the start.qip.ru page as a start page, and also whether to make the search from QIP as the default. Please note that when installing QIP, you will have to close the windows of all browsers, in order to avoid conflicts of the program with them.
Step 4
After selecting all the options and closing open browsers, the installation of the application will begin. It will go on for a few minutes. After that, the Installation Wizard will prompt you to install the Internet Explorer browser. When the wizard finishes, select the "Launch QIP" command and click the "Finish" button. The program is installed on your computer.
