Many have encountered the problem of uninstalling antivirus software. The old antivirus is out of date, the license key has expired, or the user simply finds a new program that suits him better. In this case, the question arises of how to get rid of the antivirus installed on the computer.
Instructions
Step 1
When using licensed anti-virus software, difficulties usually do not arise. In this case, the bundled software usually comes with the Uninstall utility, which painlessly removes its antivirus from your computer. If for some reason you do not have it, try using standard Windows tools to get rid of the antivirus.
Step 2
Go to Control Panel (Start - Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs) and uninstall your antivirus program. Sometimes this is enough, but most often the antivirus is written much deeper on your hard disk, and when you delete it in this way, a lot of "garbage" remains, which can subsequently interfere with the normal operation of the computer.
Step 3
Disable all services that your antivirus runs. In the command line (Start - Run), write the Services.msc command, in the window that opens, disable services that look a little like the antivirus you are trying to get rid of. They usually appear at the top of the list.
Step 4
You also need to clear the registry. To do this, in the command line, write regedit and in the opened registry editor, using the "search" function, we find and delete the remaining files of the uninstalled program (be sure to create a backup copy of the registry before this action).
Step 5
After that, come back to me Start, start Search, and in the field that opens, enter the name of the remote antivirus. If there are any files left, just delete them.
Step 6
You can use separate antivirus removal utilities that are created by most well-known antivirus software manufacturers for their programs. Information about these products can usually be found on the official websites of these companies, as a rule, these utilities are absolutely free.
