Many budget notebook models only have an integrated video adapter. This device has several advantages over a discrete graphics card. But, as a rule, the power of such an adapter is not enough to work with heavy applications.
Necessary
- - screwdriver;
- - Speccy.
Instructions
Step 1
Integrated video adapters work at the expense of RAM, i.e. they do not have their own resources. The volume of some built-in video cards can be up to one and a half GB. The downside is that with a relatively small amount of RAM, the system cannot allocate enough RAM resources. Install additional strips of RAM.
Step 2
This will allow the system to allocate more RAM to support the video adapter. In the event that all the RAM slots in your laptop are occupied, replace one or more of the installed brackets. Install the Speccy program to determine the characteristics of the RAM.
Step 3
Run the program and go to the "RAM" menu. After examining the contents of the menu that opens, find out the following characteristics: type of memory, its size and frequency. Buy more RAM cards, the clock speed of which will approximately coincide with the frequency of the already used strips.
Step 4
Turn off your laptop. Unscrew the screws and open the cover that covers the slots for installing the RAM. Replace old planks or install new ones. Assemble your laptop.
Step 5
In the event that you are not satisfied with the performance of the integrated video card, install a discrete video adapter. Purchase a full-fledged graphics card suitable for your laptop model.
Step 6
Disassemble the laptop by removing the bottom cover and carefully disconnecting all cables. Install a new video card into the special slot. Assemble the laptop and turn on the device.
Step 7
Install new drivers for the discrete graphics card. If they are not included with the device, then visit the official website of the manufacturer of this model. Download the software from there and install it. Disable the integrated video card using the installed program.
