A virus can get to a computer from the Internet or from another computer using removable media. To find and cure it, use special software.
Instructions
Step 1
If your computer does not have anti-virus software installed, install it. It is needed not only to cure the infected file, but also to prevent viruses from entering your PC in the future.
Step 2
Double-click the left mouse button on the antivirus icon in the notification area of the taskbar to open the control panel. Select the "Check" section in the menu and click on the "Check system" button ("Scan", "Perform check").
Step 3
Specify the area on the computer that you want to scan for viruses and wait until the operation is completed. The program will identify infected files and place them in quarantine, notifying you of this.
Step 4
Open the "Quarantine" folder through the control panel and select the file with the virus with the left mouse button. On the toolbar or in the top menu bar, find the "Cure file" button (command) and click on it. In cases when it is impossible to cure a file infected with a virus, there is only one available action - "Delete".
Step 5
If you do not need to scan multiple folders or drives, try the following option: move the cursor to the suspicious file and right-click on it. In the drop-down menu, select the item with the image of the corporate icon of your antivirus and the command "Check file".
Step 6
After scanning, the antivirus will offer you several options for action: disinfect the file, delete it, or quarantine it (that is, isolate it). Select the action that suits your case by clicking on the appropriate button.
Step 7
