To open them, you need to become either the owner of the folder itself, or add yourself to the list of owners of this folder. You must also have a computer administrator account, or your account must be a member of the computer administrators group.

Step 2

Click on the protected folder with the right mouse button. A menu will appear in which you need to select the "Properties" command. Next, select the "Security" tab, then click on the "Advanced" option at the bottom of the window. Then select the "Owner" tab, in which at the bottom of the window click on the "Change" command. A window will appear in which there will be a list of accounts that have been created on this computer. Click on your account with the right mouse button. Then, in the lower right corner of the current window, click Apply. A dialog box will appear informing you that you have become the owner of this folder. Now you can open the protected folder without any problems.

You can also enable public access to protected folders. You must also be a computer administrator for this operation. In the "Folder Options" (how to open the "Folder Options" described above) click on the "Access" tab. In this tab select "Advanced setup". Check the box next to "Share this folder". Then save the settings. In this case, the folder will be available to all computer accounts.

Also in the "Access" tab, you can select the "Shared" option. In this case, a window will appear where there will be a list of all accounts. Left-click on the account with which the folder will open. Then click on the arrow (next to the account name). Select "Write and Read". Next, select the "Share" command and click "Finish". The protected folder is now available to the selected user.
