While working at a computer, sometimes it becomes necessary to take a snapshot of the image transferred to the screen, or a certain area of it. In such situations, it is customary to use standard Windows functions. The exceptions are cases when it is necessary to record video from the display.

Instructions
Step 1
Turn on your computer and wait for Windows to boot. Prepare the screen image for taking a snapshot. Open the programs or web pages you want. Press the Print Scrn key. It is usually located next to the F12 key at the top of the keyboard.
Step 2
After pressing the specified key, the data about the snapshot will be written to the clipboard. Open Paint. It is a graphics editor built into the Windows system. It can be accessed through the Start Menu.
Step 3
After starting this program, right-click on the area of the working window, filled with white. In the expanded menu, select the "Paste" item. Wait for the image to appear in the program window.
Step 4
Now press the key combination Ctrl and S. Enter the name of the future file. Select its type. Specify the folder to save the screenshot.
Step 5
In the Windows Seven operating system, there is a special utility that allows you to cut out a certain area of the image transmitted to the display. Open the Start menu, expand the All Programs submenu.
Step 6
Open the folder "Standard", find the icon of the program "Scissors" and click on it with the right mouse button. Select "Pin to taskbar".
Step 7
At the right time, open the "Scissors" program by clicking on the icon on the bottom panel. After launching the selected program, select the area of the screen that you want to include in the snapshot. Edit the resulting image using the functions of the "Scissors" program.
Step 8
Select the "File" tab and click on the "Save As" item. Enter the file name, specify the desired format and select the folder where the captured image will be saved.
