Today, the Windows operating system is one of the most popular in the world due to its simple and intuitive user interface. You can install Windows both on new computers recently purchased from the store, and on workstations assembled with your own hands.
If on new computers the operating system is often installed in the store by specialists - testers or assemblers, then in some cases the owner of a computer, which can hardly be called new, has to install Windows on his own. Today, in the vast majority of cases, a version of Windows XP is installed on computers - the previous versions (98 and 2000) are already outdated and are rarely used. Basically, installing Windows is not that difficult.
To do this, you need a CD (or bootable flash drive) with the Windows operating system. It is better to purchase licensed products - so you can be sure of the quality of the OS you purchased. Insert the disk into your computer and enter the BIOS with the "boot from CD" option. Since in most cases all BIOS settings are set by default, you do not need to change anything further. Just select the desired download path. After that, exit the BIOS using the F10 key, save the changes and restart the computer. The download will start from the CD, you just need to select the "Install Windows on computer" option. The Windows setup program will prepare the computer for the operating system installation by itself, copy all the necessary data from the disk, and install the OS to the hard disk. After that, the computer will automatically reboot, and you will be asked to indicate the serial number of the product (license), you can see it on the box with the disc.
You will also need to fill in a few items (place of residence, company name or name of a private person, etc.). The installation will continue, in the dialog boxes you will be able to see data regarding the installation process. After the next reboot, the Windows system will automatically configure itself according to the technical characteristics of your computer and install all the drivers necessary for the correct operation of the OS. Another reboot - and that's it, the computer with the Windows operating system installed on it is ready to use. The installation process will take no more than 40 minutes.
